Chapter 106 Penelope, You Should Just Die Mr. Cooper bumped into the butler.

The impact contorted the butler's face in pain, forcing him to double over in pain for a long while.

Although Mr. Cooper hadn't hit the pillar, he staggered back several steps, stood dizzily for a moment, and eventually collapsed to the ground, passing out.

Years in prison had taken a toll on Mr. Cooper's health.

"Dad" Penelope raced over, "Dad, wake up, don't scare me. I can't bear to lose you!" Slowly, Mr. Cooper's eyes fluttered open, his lips trembling, trying to say something, but no sound cout. Penelope was terrified.

"Mrs. Davis, don't... *cough* don't worry," the butler said, struggling to his feet. "Mr. Cooper will be fine, probably just a mild concussion. A couple of days of rest and he should be back to normal." Penelope finally let out a sigh of relief. "Butler, thank you, I can't thank you enough..." Words failed to express her gratitude; after all, he had saved her father's life.

"It's nothing, Mrs. Davis. I'm glad Mr. Cooper is alright." Wiping the tears from the corners of her eyes, Penelope realized her face was already streaked with tears. Looking up, she noticed Kelvin standing by, observing the chaos unfold like a spectator. He had a commanding presence, exuding an air of distinguished nobility. Next to him, Penelope felt like a mere clown.

"Take my father home," she said. "I promise you, I'll apologize to Fiona... until she forgives me!" Kelvin glanced at the butler, "You heard her, go take care of it." "Yes, Mr. Davis." Several bodyguards lifted Mr. Cooper into the car, returning him to the jail. As the car disappeared from view, Penelope felt her heart squeezed tightly.

"You always have to learn the hard way, don't you? Battering yourself against the wall until you're bruised and bloodied before you finally relent," Kelvin said quietly. "Why, Penelope?" She turned to look at him, standing beside her. "Why?" Penelope shot back. "Are we supposed to just endure oppression, without a fight, accepting everything like we're mere stand-ins? Resistance might be futile, but without it, defeat is guaranteed! We have to fight for ourselves!" A mocking smile curled Kelvin's lips. "And what have all your fights won you, hm?" She bit her lip hard. "They've won you even more suffering," Kelvin stated. "You're truly remarkable, Penelope." He turned and headed towards the Ferrari parked in the garden. "Get in." The Hospital.

As soon as Fiona heard familiar footsteps outside the door, she quickly abandoned her relaxed demeanor, tousled her hair, and adopted a look of frailty and despair.

Soon after, Kelvin entered.

"Mr. Davis..." Fiona slowly sat up in bed, and upon seeing Penelope behind him, becvisibly agitated, "Why is she here!" Penelope remained silent.

Fiona pointed at her, "You, get out! I can't stand the sight of you! Penelope, you're the murderer of my child, you will be cursed! Leave!" Kelvin's brow furrowed slightly.

"Mr. Davis, I've been having nightmares every night, seeing our baby crying and asking why I didn't protect it. Every tI wake up, my pillow is soaked with tears. And knowing that Penelope's child is safe inside her, it eatsup inside... I can't stand the injustice..." Fiona's cries filled the hospital room.

Penelope's voice was devoid of emotion as she spoke, "Yes, you're innocent, you're hurt, I'm here to apologize." Planning your weekend reading? Ensure you're on novi L5sfor uninterrupted enjoyment. Oh, she's willing to apologize now? At first, Penelope wouldn't bend a knee for anything! What changed her mind? It wasn't long before Fiona scoffed at the thought. Penelope apologizes, and she's supposed to just accept it? Not a chance! "I don't accept your apology," Fiona spat, "Leave, Penelope. I don't want to see you. Take your bastard child and get out!" In her rage, Fiona began to hurl objects indiscriminately at Penelope. It started with pillows and clothing - harmless stuff.

Seeing no damage done, Fiona's gaze swept the room, and she grabbed a glass from the nightstand. "Penelope, you should just die— never show your face toagain!" With all her might, she flung the glass.

Penelope dodged quickly.

The glass whistled past her and shattered against the wall, breaking into countless pieces.

When the glass burst, shards scattered, slicing a thin cut across Penelope's cheek. Blood trickled out slowly. Penelope touched her face wincing, "Ouch..." That stung.

But Fiona wasn't done; she kept on throwing things. "Penelope, giveback my child, I hate you, I despise you!" What a shrew.

Penelope couldn't be bothered to argue; she ducked behind Kelvin.

Let her throw, let her rage.

Kelvin, standing well over six feet tall, shielded her completely.

"Enough," Kelvin interjected, "You need to rest and recover from the miscarriage. Penelope knows she's wrong and she's here to apologize." "Apologize? Her knees wouldn't bend when my dad had to force her, and now suddenly she's seen the light?" Penelope peeked from behind Kelvin's back, "Because you lost your child, and mine is still here. For that alone, admitting a mistake seems fair." "You, you-"

"I'm sorry," Penelope said firmly. "When I fell, you kindly tried to help, e only to tumble down the steps with me. It's all my fault. Your goodness, your innocence, and your willingness to help should not have been rewarded with pain." "That's not an apology! There's no sincerity in your words!"

"I've explained exactly what happened and where I went wrong, isn't that enough for you?" Penelope asked. Ncouldn't control my fall, and how was I to know you'd cto help? It all happened in a split second." Fiona clenched her teeth, "You're not sorry at all!" "I'm standing right here, isn't that sincerity?" "Hmph, I didn't hear any!" Penelope cleared her throat- I'm sorry, Fiona, I was wrong-it's all on me; you're innocent. You and Kelvin are still so young. once you've recovered, having three, four, or more children won't be an issue." "You could have a big family if you like, after all, the more the merrier. But realistically,

it's not the best tfor you to get pregnant. You haven't officially becpart of the Davis family yet; it's not a good look without the proper status." "Anyway, there's plenty of time. Sooner or later, the title of Mrs. Davis will be yours. Let's put the past behind us; don't act like I did." Fiona's expression darkened with each word.

Even Kelvin couldn't help but purse his lips in reaction.

Though it was an apology Penelope earnestly meant to give, there was something off about it — awkward, not quite right. Yet... Fiona couldn't point out any explicit fault.
