First Love 29
Chapter 29
Angela felt a bit confused because she was already married.
“Why are you looking atlike that? Even though you're married, you still have the right to have sfun. |
noticed you haven't been in the best spirits these past few days. Go relax a bit—it'll do you sgood," Joseph
advised sincerely.
Unable to refuse his kind intentions, Angela reluctantly went into the dressing room.
It was a professional makeup team that typically worked with celebrities. However... it seemed everyone would
be styled into white swans.
The rules for Joseph's event were simple. It was essentially a masquerade, where everyone's face would be
disguised. Only their eyes would be visible to tell them apart. The room full of men and women would mingle,
chat, and, if they felt a connection, they could exchange contact details.
By the ther makeup was done, even Angela could barely recognize herself.
There were a dozen or so women, and all of them were dressed identically. Could this event even be fun? Slightly

quickly. The main event had yet to start, but she already felt a bit drained.
“Con, ladies. Gather around." Joseph con stage, holding a raffle drum. “Pick a number, and you'll dance
with the person who has the matching number."
Angela didn't know whether to laugh or cry at this. She dragged her feet and was the last
one to go up.
By then, many couples were already dancing away in the dance area. Soft music filled the air, and the
atmosphere was enchanting.
Angela leaned closer to Joseph and whispered, “Grandpa, maybe | should skip the raffle since Dexter is here."
It wasn't that she feared that he would get upset; she simply didn't feel like socializing.
Joseph handed her a number himself. “Here, take this and have sfun. The point is to make him a little
jealous. Don't let Elena get the upper hand over you, silly girl."
So, Angela reluctantly accepted the number 66 card and walked back to her seat. She planned to keep her
number hidden and just sit quietly in the corner to enjoy the snacks.
Not long after, Angela spotted a tall, slender figure. The woman had a graceful silhouette and looked vaguely
familiar.

Upon taking a closer look, she realized it was Elena. And judging by the way she was dancing, her partner might
very well be Dexter
Angela was amused at this. She had no intention of making an appearance.
But then, the gentleman holding the number 66 card walked straight toward her. He showed the number on his
card in his hand openly.
"Miss, may | see your card?" he asked in a soft, familiar voice.
Angela froze for a moment and looked up into the man's eyes.
It was Finn!
What was he doing here?
Finn looked at her with a bright, gentle smile. His eyes sparkled like twinkling stars in the night sky.
Angela stood up and asked, "What brings you here? Did Grandpa invite you?"
“| started my own hospital and once saved Mr. Bamford Sr. by chance. We've been close friends ever since, and
we even arranged to go fishing together," Finn explained in a low voice.

Angela didn't refuse. She placed her hand gracefully into his, mirroring his refined posture. His hand was warm
and steady. It gave off a sense of comfort that made one feel secure.
"Did Dexter give you trouble last time?” Finn asked tentatively as they moved in sync with the music.
After their last encounter, it had been a while since they had seen each other.
"It's all fine now." Thinking about the incident made Angela feel annoyed all over again. Silence fell between
them-there was a strange, unspoken tension.
"If you ever need help, don't hesitate to contact me,” Finn finally said softly after the long pause.
